Lawrence’s wide performing experiences include everything from an appearance in Kenneth Branagh‘s film of The Magic Flute to working as a backing singer for Chris De Burgh.
His operatic roles include Commissionario (La traviata) for Mid Wales Opera; Ashmodeus in Jonathan Dove’s Tobias and the Angel for City of Birmingham Opera; Figaro and Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro (Crescent Theatre, Birmingham); and Seneca in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea (Crescent Theatre, Birmingham).
Oratorio appearances include bass soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra; Fauré’s Requiem at St John’s, Smith Square, London; Duruflé’s Requiem, Birmingham Festival Choral Society; and Handel’s Messiah with Mid Wales Opera.
Musical theatre roles include Marius in Les Miserables (Adrian Boult Hall, Birmingham); Jesus in Godspell (Recital Hall, Birmingham); Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera (Manchester); and Paul in Kiss Me, Kate.
Recent concert appearances include the bass solo in Mozart’s Requiem in London and Sheffield, and Vaughan Williams’s Five Mystical Songs with the Aylesbury Choral Society, Haydn’s Creation with Hall Green Choral Society.
